Do you have the dexterity to defend the walls?

Although today there might not be a need for professional wizards, there was a time when invaders would avoid the city walls by dropping down from the clouds. Of course, free-falling while wearing an armor piece is not a good idea, so carefully inflated balloons were used in order to descend in safety. In this case the villager had no choice but to hire wizards which would pop the balloons in mid air, crushing the invaders to the cold and hard stone.

In Magic Touch: Wizard for Hire, you will be defending against an invasion of infinite knights and warriors. While you will fail eventually (since only one is required to get pass your defenses) the money that you will collect will be sufficient compensation.

The task looks easy enough. Every balloon is marked with a glyph which you must reproduce by drawing it in order to burst the invader's bubble... literally.

Every time an enemy falls you will get some coins, double if you manage to drop two at the same time. Coins are spent on special effects that can be activated randomly during play or to unlock new wizards and backdrops. The latter two have no effect on gameplay but offer a nice change of scenery.

There are three difficulty levels as well as a Time Attack mode where you get to pop as many enemies as you can within a time limit. Not to say that your task is any different during the regular game, but in this case, the invasion will not end if any enemy reaches the wall.

Conclusion

Right, Magic Touch is a charming title. Nitrome's handy-work is clearly up to standards and for a free game it is a total delight to play.
